How We Match Your Business to a Funding Partner
Most matching services will not tell you how they choose. That is a fair thing to be suspicious of, so this page explains ours: what happens to your details after you submit, how the choice is narrowed, and what we deliberately do not do.
Short version: we check which partners fit your industry, time in business, revenue and location, then look for the one most likely to give your business the best offer. You are matched with one partner, and from there that partner works with you directly.
What happens in the two minutes after you submit?
Your answers are compared against the published criteria of every partner in the network, and the ones your profile does not meet are removed before anything is sent. That filtering happens before any introduction is made.
Four things do most of the work:
| What you tell us | What it decides |
|---|---|
| Industry | Some partners do not fund certain trades at all |
| Time in business | The single hardest gate; many partners set a floor |
| Monthly revenue | Sets the realistic amount and rules out partners with higher floors |
| Business location | Partners are licensed and active in different states, and not every one covers yours |
None of that requires a credit check or a single document, only your answers checked against published criteria.
How is the one partner chosen?
Eligibility comes first and it is a hard gate: a partner that does not fund your industry, your time in business, your revenue level or your state is removed from consideration entirely, no matter what else is true.
From the partners left, we look for the one most likely to give your business the best offer: the partner best positioned to put the widest range of products in front of a business like yours. Our partners are not single-product shops: term loans, lines of credit, equipment financing and revenue-based financing all sit inside the network, and a partner that can put four of those on the table beats one holding a single take-it-or-leave-it option.
Which product you are offered, and on what terms, is the decision of the partner you are matched with, not ours. We do not choose the product and we do not set the price, and nothing about how you are matched promises that any particular product or offer is available to you.
You are matched with one partner. From there, that partner works with you directly. The application, the questions, the decision and the money all happen between the two of you.
Two more things are worth stating plainly:
We are not a lender and not a loan broker. We do not originate, underwrite, price or fund anything, and we make no credit decisions. Being matched is an introduction, not an approval. The partner reviews your application, sets your amount, rate and terms, and decides whether to fund you.
We do not sell your details to anyone. That is a statement about what we do, and we cannot speak for what a partner does once you have applied to it.
Why are you shown one match and not a list?
Because a list is work you did not ask for. Ten names ranked by an algorithm you cannot inspect leaves you doing the sorting, and the ranking is rarely as informative as it looks. One match, chosen on eligibility and product range, is a starting point rather than a project.
The trade is worth naming: one match means one set of terms rather than several to compare. If comparing offers side by side is your priority, applying directly to two or three lenders yourself will do it, at the cost of more time and more hard inquiries on your file.
What kinds of funding are available through partners in the network?
The network covers business financing only: no personal loans, no credit cards, no mortgages. What is realistically open to you depends on your profile shape rather than on what you ask for.
| Profile shape | Products typically in range |
|---|---|
| Two or more years trading, steady deposits | Term loans, lines of credit, SBA-adjacent products |
| Six to twenty-four months, verifiable revenue | Online term loans, lines of credit |
| Under six months, or uneven deposits | Revenue-based products, secured options |
| Buying a specific asset | Equipment financing, where the asset secures the loan |
| Waiting on business customers to pay | Invoice financing |
These are the shapes we see, not a promise. No product is guaranteed to any business, and the partner decides what, if anything, to offer.
What we never collect
No Social Security number. No date of birth. No EIN. No documents. We do not ask for bank statements, tax returns or paperwork of any kind. Those belong to the partner's application, not ours. Matching runs on your business profile and how to reach you, and on nothing else.
Alongside that:
- No credit check of any kind at match time. Checking your options doesn't affect your credit. Any inquiry happens later, at the partner, with your separate consent.
- No fee to the business, ever. Partners pay us when a match works out.
- We do not lend, underwrite, price or approve. That is all the partner's.
- We do not guarantee an outcome, and any page or ad that appears to promise one is wrong.
How are partner criteria kept current?
Partner requirements change, so the figures on our industry pages carry a "Requirements last verified" date and, where one comes from a published source, a link to it. Where a number is a common market range rather than something a lender publishes, we label it as a typical range rather than dressing it up as a citation.
The distinction matters. "SBA microloans cap at $50,000" is a published program rule with a source. "Online term loans fund in 24 to 48 hours" is what the market typically does, and nobody publishes it as a commitment. We mark which is which.
Frequently asked questions
Does being matched mean I have been approved?
No. A match is an introduction to a funding partner whose published criteria your profile meets. The partner then reviews your application independently and decides whether to offer you anything, and on what terms.
Do you sell my information?
No. We do not sell your details to anyone. What a partner does with your application once you have applied to it is governed by that partner's own privacy policy, not ours.
Does applying affect my credit score?
No. Matching runs only on the answers you give us, including a self-estimated credit band, so checking your options doesn't affect your credit. A credit inquiry can happen later at the matched partner, with your separate consent.
Why did I get matched with a partner I have not heard of?
The network includes partners that do not advertise heavily, which is common in business finance. What decides the match is eligibility for your industry, trading history and amount, then which remaining partner can put the widest range of products in front of your profile, not brand recognition.
What if no partner fits my business?
It happens, most often with businesses trading under six months or in an industry few partners cover. Rather than a match, you will see the options that remain realistic. Building six to twelve months of documented revenue changes the picture more than any other single factor.
Do you charge me anything?
No. The business is never charged. Partners pay us when a match works out, which is how the service stays free to the owner.
How long does the whole thing take?
The application is about two minutes and the match is immediate. Everything after that runs on the partner's timeline, which varies by product: a day or two for online products, weeks for SBA-backed ones.
