Fundera by NerdWallet

What Fundera is

Fundera does not lend. It is a marketplace: it compares business financing options and connects business owners with lenders who might fund them. Its own framing is "Compare Your Best Small Business Loan and Credit Card Options."

That makes it a different kind of partner from most of the network. Where a direct funder reviews your application and decides whether to fund you itself, Fundera puts options in front of you and the lending decision sits with whoever you go on to apply with.

It is part of NerdWallet, and it states that it "can only help U.S.-based small businesses find financing."

What Fundera compares

Fundera covers the main business financing types:

  • SBA loans
  • Term loans, short and long
  • Business lines of credit
  • Equipment financing
  • Invoice factoring
  • Merchant cash advances
  • Commercial real estate loans

On its own site it publishes general market context rather than its own criteria: that some lenders accept credit scores as low as 500, that startups are sometimes served from three to six months in operation, and that funding can come "in as little as one business day." These describe the market Fundera covers, not requirements Fundera sets, because Fundera sets none. It does not underwrite.

What this means if you're matched with Fundera

You would be introduced to a marketplace rather than to a lender. In practice that means comparing options rather than receiving a decision, and the actual application, underwriting and funding happening with a lender you select from there.

Whether that is what you want depends on your position. A business that already knows what product it needs may prefer a direct funder. A business still working out which product fits may get more from a comparison step first.

Rates

Not published, and Fundera is not in a position to publish them: pricing comes from the lenders it compares, and each of those sets its own terms after underwriting.

TopFunders is not a lender and not a loan broker, and neither is Fundera. Being matched is an introduction, not an approval. Nothing on this page is an offer, and details are subject to change.
